PRESS RELEASE

H.P. GOLDFIELD JOINS STONEBRIDGE AS VICE CHAIRMAN
Goldfield will broaden firmês capacity globally and in Washington

WASHINGTON, DC, June 26, 2002 — Stonebridge International LLC, a global strategy firm headed by former National Security Adviser Samuel R. Berger, today announced that H.P. Goldfield has joined the company as Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President.

Goldfield was previously Senior Partner of Swidler Berlin Shereff Friedman, LLP and served in senior positions in the Reagan Administration.  He brings nearly 20 years of experience in international trade and investment issues, both as a leading international lawyer and government official.  Among other responsibilities, he will oversee the development of Washington-based strategies to underpin the international advice and assistance provided by Stonebridge to its clients.

“H.P. is recognized in Government and business, here and abroad, for his superb track record in solving business challenges internationally.  He has been a valued counselor to multinational corporations in Washington and abroad, and we are delighted by the strength he adds to our team,” said Mr. Berger.  Goldfield joins Berger and Anthony S. Harrington, Stonebridge President and former U.S. Ambassador to Brazil.

“In a short period of time, Stonebridge has built an unsurpassed team of professionals and an unparalleled reputation for success,” said Goldfield.  “I am excited about joining Sandy Berger and the other members of this dynamic firm in helping U.S. and other multinational companies prosper in the challenging global marketplace.”

For the past 15 years, Goldfield has handled high-level international trade, transactional and regulatory matters for major U.S. and foreign companies.  From 1984-87, he was Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Development, and from 1981-83 was Associate Counsel to President Reagan, having previously served in the White House Counsel’s office under President Ford.  As Assistant Secretary, Goldfield was responsible for developing and implementing business strategies to exploit market opportunities on behalf of U.S. companies across all sectors of the economy.  He was a member of the Boards of the U.S. Export-Import Bank (ex officio) and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Foundation and the Board of Advisors of the Middle East Institute.

In the announcement, Harrington commented, “Goldfield’s addition reflects the strong, bipartisan nature of the firm.”  After serving in two Republican Administrations, Goldfield has been a member of the National Finance Committees for every Republican presidential campaign since President Bush in 1988.  Goldfield was also Director of Congressional Relations for the Dole-Kemp Campaign.

Like Berger and Harrington, Goldfield will also be a senior international strategic adviser to Hogan & Hartson, an international law firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. with more than 900 attorneys practicing in 18 offices worldwide.

Mr. Goldfield is married to Kristin Mannion and has two children, two years old.
