PRESS RELEASE CAROLINE ATKINSON, FORMER TOP TREASURY OFFICIAL,
joins STONEBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL AS SENIOR DIRECTOR WASHINGTON, DC, Thursday, May 2, 2002 — Stonebridge International LLC announced today that Caroline Atkinson, former Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury, has joined the firm as Senior Director. Atkinson will assist clients on global economic and financial issues. “From her work at Treasury, the IMF and the Bank of England, Caroline has had a unique experience shaping complex strategies to address financial and economic crises worldwide. At Stonebridge, she will provide key strategic guidance to clients in this challenging international economic and financial environment,” said Samuel R. Berger, former National Security Adviser and Chairman of Stonebridge International. As a Senior Director, Atkinson joins Stonebridge’s unsurpassed team of business leaders, scholars and former government officials who have served five administrations, both Democratic and Republican. Atkinson served as a primary advisor to Secretaries Robert Rubin and Lawrence Summers from 1997-2001. She led international monetary and financial policy, including international capital markets, emerging markets crisis management and reforms to the international financial architecture. Prior to Treasury, Atkinson was a senior official at the IMF, working on a range of issues including the Latin American debt and emerging market crises. She also served as a special advisor on financial stability at the Bank of England, where she headed a task force on the Mexico peso crisis and represented the Bank in G-10 efforts on international liquidity and electronic money. Atkinson was a columnist and writer for the The Washington Post, The Times (London), and The Economist.
