PRESS RELEASE FORMER SENATOR WARREN RUDMAN JOINS STONEBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL
BOARD OF ADVISORS WASHINGTON, D.C., Friday, December 7, 2001 - Stonebridge International LLC, a global strategy firm headed by former National Security Adviser Samuel Berger, today announced the addition of former Senator Warren B. Rudman to the firm's Board of Advisors and named as Senior Directors former Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Peter Tarnoff, former Ambassador to India Richard F. Celeste, former Ambassador to the European Union Richard L. Morningstar, and Professor Kenneth Lieberthal of the University of Michigan. The firm also announced that Charles M. Ludolph and Maria Fabiana Jorge have joined as Senior Vice President and Vice President, respectively. Berger, Chairman of Stonebridge International. Warren Rudman served two terms in the U.S. Senate as a Republican representing New Hampshire. He also was Chairman of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board and Co-Chair of the U.S. Commission on National Security. "Few public servants make such an imprint as Warren Rudman, both during and since his years in the Senate. His leadership of the PFIAB and the recent Commission on National Security could hardly be more significant and timely. Top management of major corporations can surely benefit from his counsel," said Stonebridge President and former U.S. Ambassador to Brazil, Anthony S. Harrington. Four new Senior Directors bring exceptional regional and industry expertise to the firm. Each will work with clients to help solve complex international problems ranging from market access to finding business partners. Peter Tarnoff served as Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs from 1993-1997, after a 20-year career at the State Department. He also was President of the Council on Foreign Relations and is President of International Advisory Corporation. With his unique understanding of global affairs, Tarnoff will advise on international strategies for the firm's clients. Richard Celeste was U.S. Ambassador to India from 1997-2001, and served two terms as Governor of Ohio. Celeste will build the firm's expertise on South Asian issues, helping clients in this critically important region. Richard Morningstar served as U.S. Ambassador to the European Union from 1999-2001. After 23 years in law and business, he also served as Special Adviser to the President for the Caspian Basin and to the Newly Independent States as well as Senior Vice President at OPIC. Morningstar will enhance the firm's expertise on issues related to the energy sector, European Union and the Caspian, including Turkey. Kenneth Lieberthal is a distinguished professor at the University of Michigan and served as Special Assistant to the President for Asia on the National Security Council. Lieberthal will provide clients with timely advice on issues related to East Asia, including China, Taiwan, Japan, and Southeast Asia. "Along with Senator Rudman, these four individuals bring a sophisticated, current understanding of challenging global trends today," said Berger. They join Stonebridge International's team of business leaders, scholars and former government officials who have served five administrations, both Republican and Democratic. Stonebridge also announced that Charles M. Ludolph has joined the firm as Senior Vice President. Ludolph, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Europe, assists clients doing business in Europe, including the EU, Central and Eastern Europe and Russia. During his 30-year career at the Department of Commerce, he was responsible for developing the market access strategies for U.S. trade and investment across Europe including the NIS and Russia. An economist, he directed the Department's negotiations with the European Union and served in every international program during his career at the Department of Commerce. Maria Fabiana Jorge joins the firm as Vice President. Fabiana Jorge has been president of MFJ International, specializing in business and trade issues in Latin America, as well as WTO and EC trade matters. She previously participated in foreign trade negotiations for the Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade of Argentina and later was Director of Latin American Affairs at Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson & Hand.
